Pool shapes and pool steps - an overview of all the options and their advantages

Klára Kecskesová

Are you choosing your dream pool but can't decide which shape fits best? We've put together an overview of all the options for what a pool and pool steps can look like. We compare the advantages of each shape - from classic to atypical. We concentrate on meeting the needs of each customer and also design custom plastic pools. You'll find out if all stair options fit specific pool shapes, if skimmer pools and overflow pools can be made in any shape, and if there is a fitting canopy to fit all pool shapes.

Classic round pools and original pool shapes

We offer quality polypropylene pools in popular shapes and also design custom pools. Whether you're looking for a pool for summer refreshment and relaxation, sporting activities, or aesthetic garden beautification, you're sure to find the right one with us. You can always choose from two types of pools - overflow or skimmer - and a pool location - indoor pool or outdoor pool, even for more challenging terrain. The pool can include a staircase made of durable plastic or a stainless steel ladder. In addition, our range includes a variety of pool accessories and modern pool technology. Everything is compatible with any pool of your choice.

Circular pool

Circular pools are in demand for their simple design and playful shape. They are suitable for family home gardens and public areas as they offer a safe and uncluttered environment for water fun. At the same time, they are resistant to external influences, easy to maintain and have better water circulation. Round pools are available in diameters from 2 to 4 m and in depths from 1.2 to 1.5 m. Of course, if you have a different idea, we can make you a tailor-made pool.

Rectangular pool

Rectangular pool shapes are one of the most common and practical pool shapes. This pool has a large layout, making it ideal for swimming, for athletes and for public areas. It is suitable for both indoors and outdoors and is easy to install accessories. Rectangle shaped pools are available in sizes from 2 to 15 m long and 2 to 4 m wide. Depths are selectable from 1.2 to 1.5 m. Or let us know your requirements.

Oval pool

Oval pools are a proven choice with an elegant appearance. Thanks to their shape, they provide a longer swimming lane and more safe space for water play with children. An oval pool is easy to maintain and best suited to a variety of spaces and terrains. Choose from sizes ranging from 2 to 12 m in length and 2 to 4 m in width.

Kidney-shaped pool

The kidney-shaped pool is unique and original with its curved shape. It will beautify both your garden and interior with its attractive design. At the same time, you can swim in it comfortably and make the most of the space around the pool. We offer this shape from 2 to 12 m long, from 2 to 4 m wide and from 1.2 to 1.5 m deep. However, you don't have to limit yourself to these dimensions, we also deal with the production of customised pools.

Customized size and shape of the plastic pool

Didn't choose from the shapes and sizes we offer? No matter, we can help you realize your dream pool and manufacture it according to your individual requirements. Choose a superior depth or an unusual shape. We will customize the design, shape, size and features of the pool to your liking so that you can make efficient use of all the space around the pool.

You can upgrade your customized pool with pool accessories and pool technology to suit your exact needs and requirements. You can choose the ideal method of disinfecting the pool water or the type of pool vacuum cleaner. We will also be happy to arrange a consultation with our professional partner ALUPO, who will take care of your customised pool cover. ALUPO specializes in the production of classic and atypical pool covers. The shape of the roofing is mostly rectangular and they offer roofing for round pools in a hemispherical shape. A less distinctive and cheaper alternative may be pool tarpaulins. Another important accessory is the pool staircase. There are many types to choose from.

Pool stairs or which ones will fit best

Whatever pool you choose, another important component is the pool staircase, which is inserted into the welded waterproof pool tub and flooded. You don't have to worry about pool water contamination, the water under the stairs is disinfected by a nozzle located behind the stairs.

We have prepared a wide selection of different step shapes for you. You can choose from the classic straight stairs on one side of the pool or several variations of the corner stairs, either straight or in the shape of an arch and diamond. At the same time, you can add a resting bench and complement it with massage jets.

All types of steps are compatible with skimmer and overflow pools as well as all pool shapes. When choosing, we recommend thinking about the size of the pool and adjusting the size of the stairs to suit. The smaller your pool, the smaller the stairs will be more suitable. This will ensure you have enough space for comfortable swimming and other activities.

Corner pool stairs

Corner stairs are very practical, as they fill the unused space in the corner. They fit all types of pools, but are perfect for rectangular and small pools as they take up relatively little space.

We also offer ergonomic diamond-shaped steps that are designed for user comfort. With their flowing shapes, they facilitate a comfortable and natural stance for entering the pool and then sitting comfortably half in the water.

Curved pool stairs

With the curved pool stairs you achieve the most efficient use of the pool space. They are designed for safe and comfortable entry into the pool, ideal for older people and children due to the absence of sharp corners. They fit all types and sizes of pools as they take up relatively little space. They particularly stand out in rounded pool types and serve as a place to relax and socialise.

Pool stairs with relaxation bench

The pool stairs with a resting bench are a pleasant diversion that will provide relaxation while swimming. This design is best suited to larger pools due to its space-saving nature. That is why we do not suggest them for round pools of smaller size. The stairs can be arched, straight bevelled, diamond shaped or with a resting bench running along the longer side of the pool. For maximum comfort, the stairs with a resting bench can be supplemented with air vents, thus allowing for perfect refreshment and regeneration in the wellness pool.
